Only 19 years old, director Salvatore Stabile made a name for himself when he wrote, directed and produced this gritty independent film about a group of friends from Gravesend Brooklyn who accidentally kill their friend's brother. Made for only ten thousand dollars, Sal Stabile and his three man crew filmed all around the neighborhood where he grew up. The film stars Tony Tucci, Tom Malloy, Michael Parducci and Anthony Brandise. After screening at the Hamptons and Seattle International Film Festivals, Oliver Stone put his name on the film as an executive producer and Palm Pictures bought it and released it in 1997. Gravesend also caught the attention of Steven Spielberg, who awarded Sal his first Hollywood deal.

The Gravesend Soundtrack included original songs from The Lordz of Brooklyn, Cypress Hill and Everlast.
